Accounts

This page provides a complete reference of all financial accounts available in Tensor Cloud, organized by account type and category.

Account structure overview

The chart of accounts is organized into five main categories:

Assets

Assets are divided into current and non-current categories:

• Current assets: Cash, receivables, prepaid expenses, and other short-term assets
• Non-current assets: Property, plant, and equipment (PP&E), intangible assets, and long-term receivables

Liabilities

Liabilities track obligations and debts:

• Current liabilities: Short-term payables, accrued expenses, and current portions of debt
• Non-current liabilities: Long-term debt, lease liabilities, and asset retirement obligations (ARO)

Equity

Equity accounts track ownership and retained earnings:

• Paid-in capital
• Retained earnings
• Reserves
• Distributions

Revenue

Revenue accounts capture income from various sources:

• Operating revenues: FIT, FIP, PPA, market revenues, and certificates
• Non-operating income: Subsidies, interest income, and disposal gains

Expenses

Expense accounts track costs across operations:

• Operating expenses: Depreciation, O&M, insurance, and market fees
• Cost of sales: Electricity costs
• Non-operating expenses: Interest, taxes, and disposal losses

Asset vs SPV level

Tensor Cloud distinguishes between two levels of financial tracking:

• Asset level: Accounts specific to individual renewable energy projects (solar, battery, etc.)
• SPV level: Accounts that apply to the Special Purpose Vehicle entity managing one or more assets

This distinction allows for accurate project-level financial analysis while maintaining proper corporate accounting at the SPV level.

Account code structure

Tensor Cloud uses a standardized numbering system where the first digit of the account code indicates the account type:

• 1xxx: Assets - resources owned by the project or SPV
• 2xxx: Liabilities - obligations and debts owed
• 3xxx: Equity - ownership interest and retained earnings
• 4xxx: Revenue - income from operations and other sources
• 5xxx: Expenses - costs incurred in operations

The remaining digits provide further categorization within each account type. For example:

• 1000-1499: Current assets (expected to be converted to cash within one year)
• 1500-1899: Non-current assets (long-term assets and property, plant & equipment)
• 2000-2399: Current liabilities (obligations due within one year)
• 2400-2799: Non-current liabilities (long-term obligations)

How to use this reference

Each account entry includes:

• Code: Unique numerical identifier for the account
• Name: Account name in English
• Type: Classification within the account category (e.g., Current Asset, Operating expense)
• Source: Whether the account applies to Asset or SPV level
